Curing Chambers

THE CURING PROCESS

The curing process is an important step in battery production, as it is necessary for the oxidation of the metallic lead in the paste of the active mass and for the correct adhesion of the material to the grid.

The final quality of the battery depends directly on the quality of the plates and in particular of the active mass.

After the mixing and pasting operations, the curing phase determines the microstructure of PbO crystals that are also involved in the formation of batteries.

The optimisation of this process guarantees outstanding battery quality in terms of capacity and life cycle, as well as a reduction of production times and costs.

CURING CHAMBERS

Thanks to our technology, the constant R&D with the support of Universities and labs as well as the continuous collaboration with leading batteries manufacturers, we design and manufacture fully stainless steel curing chambers to process any type of lead oxide pasted plate (3BS, 4BS, industrial), prepared using any type of grid (expanded, punched metal, gravity casting, continuous casting).

We offer several types of curing chambers to meet all your production needs in terms of capacity and space availability in the curing area, with the possibility to customise your own machinery with respect to dimensions, options and other features.

Heated by steam, hot water or electrically, our curing chambers have a great impact in drastically cut the curing costs thanks to a very efficient energy recovery system, that allows a low profile energy consumption while guaranteeing the full uniformity of the process conditions and, in return, that of the final plate quality.

CONTINUOUS CURING TUNNEL

The continuous curing tunnel is the perfect solution for high capacity plants wishing to combine great efficiency with the best energy savings.

Deriving from the experience gained in over 20 years of curing chambers production, the continuous curing tunnel shares the same proven technical characteristics, with the plus of a first in / first out process.

Pallets are loaded continuously and the process starts as soon as a pallet stack enters the curing section, thus eliminating any process activation delay due to the loading phase.

A specially designed transport system moves the pallet stacks one by one from one section to another and ensures that each is treated for the given time as per the program set, guaranteeing full uniformity of the process.

Once the process for each single pallet position is over, the pallet stack is delivered to the unloading area waiting for the operator to pick it up. Optionally, the use of an AGV system for loading and unloading allows the complete automation of the full production line.

The dimension of the continuous curing tunnel as well as all other features and characteristics can be fully customised to meet the requirements of one or more pasting lines.
